Führung | The former satellite concentration camp in Sonnenallee
A guided tour by Steve Richards.
The Sonnenallee satellite camp existed between August 1944 and April 1945 on a site in Sonnenallee, where today people play soccer, tend to their allotment gardens, and children come to play in a day-care centre. This tour delves into the history of the subcamp, where approximately 300 girls and women from the evacuated and destroyed ghetto in Lódz, once lived and worked. The tour also covers the site's reuse after World War II and the later cultural engagement with the memory of the site since the 1980s.
It is possible for tour participants to simply show up on the day without the need to pre-register for the tour. However, cash cannot be accepted by the tour guide ? instead, you will need to fill out a registration form on site (by hand) and the cost of the tour will be deducted from your account later.
Each tour costs EUR 9.90 per person, reduced rate EUR 6.75
